April 2019

Welcome April!
Wow, it is already April. God!

April will be a hectic month, not only for work at the office as well as for Flying Balloons. It will be a month where we present our latest work to public. I am excited but nervous tbh. Our last performance was on December 2018. Such a long time ago, right?

If you are interested with our next performance and would love to see how it is, please check on our update on Instagram @flyingballlons.puppet. Reservation could be made 1 week before the performance and there will be only 30 seats for each performance.

Anyway, as I will do every beginning of the month, I will share my bullet journal spread. This is my first time using a dot pattern journal, and I love it. Because, it is really helpful, I do not need to use ruler. It is practical and I really enjoy how it looks.

Afternoon light~

Monthly spreads, I guess, my bullet journal become simpler than before. On this spreads, I only put tasks, goals, and important dates that I need to refer every month. I am no longer put any habit tracker on this spread, because it is hard for me to keep up with.

The highlight of my day is my favorite spreads ever. I forgot where I saw this template, but when I see it I know that I want to put it on my bullet journal. It is a fun spread to fill every month. I always find it interesting to put a little reminder or quote on one or two pages of my journal. "Let life surprise you", it is the perfect quote for this month. A lot of surprises happen in my life.

Playlist also my favorite spreads.

I believe that whatever thing that happens in our life, we need to look at it another way. We cannot use only one perspective to understand the situation. Sometimes we feel really down, but we should know that there are reasons behind every moment we experienced.

My weekly spreads, now consists of habit tracker and lunch box plan. I know that I will fill the tracker more often by do it weekly, rather than monthly.

Really simple daily spreads

I have nothing to share. I become really busy with preparation of Flying Balloons Puppet performance this month. I will post more after it.

Cheers,

March!

I believe that I do suck sometimes, but at least I try to not suck a lot this month.

Here I go again, sharing my bullet journal spreads to welcome March. Damn! Life is a like a speed of light, you never realise that it is already passed you by. I start 2019 with a hopeful vision that my life will turn out good this year. I mean by good is that, I could do everything that I love to do and share my personal problem with my partner, through thick and thin.

March welcome page

Besides sharing how March spreads will be, I also want to share a bit about me moving out (again). Yes! I am moving out of our Studio. Since couple months ago, I move to my partner's place which is also our group's studio. There are several people live in the house as well, it's quite weird situation for us to accommodate our needs in the same place.

On February, Rangga and I decided to move out to our own place. The house is quite far from the city center but we really love the surrounding. Even though we live in a housing complex, on the way there, there are lots of trees. The air is also nice and fresh.

I am glad that we got a quite big house, since, after May, most of Flying Balloons Puppet tools will be move to our place. I know, it will be the same as living in the studio, but now, only me and Rangga who live in the house, our friends will just come and go. I always excited to move from one place to another one. I mean like, almost every year, I moved out from one rent room to another one. I get bored easily, that is why the feeling of getting to somewhere new, excite my inner self. I love to organize things and stuff that I have, put it on the box and check it if I still need it on the next place. I have no idea whether I will be moving again after this house, since Rangga will not agree with that idea. He is not a fan of moving too often.

In order to do everything, I rely on my bullet journal even for moving out part. So, here is my bullet journal spreads for March, enjoy!

Weekly spreads with additional tracker, I want to try to track my habit weekly.

Try to be more and more ethical. Hard work indeed

Blog planner and project diy that I want to do for new house! Yas!!!

Last month, I cannot keep my promise for my self to upload 5 entries each month. There is a lot going on, moving out to our new place, getting sick during and after moving all our belongings, and also a job interview within last month.

Thank you for stopping by!

Cheers,
M

February Bullet Journal

A little quote from my favorite Japanese designer, Yohji Yamamoto

Welcome February!
From now on, I will try to share my bullet journal spreads in the beginning of every month. This is my second year doing bullet journal. I really enjoy the moment when I need to prepare a new month ahead. I know what I want each month, and what kind of spreads who will help through the month.

So, these are my spreads for February.
I try to combine texture and a little bit of grey in this spreads. Again, for weekly log, I keep it simple as I do not want to track every single things each week.

This is a spread of my monthly goals, tasks, and also projects. I want to see what I should completed this month. I am not going to put details in each one. The next page is my habit and health tracker.  You will see better in this image below.

Habit and health tracker, I missed spell the words, but anyway.

In January 2019, I would like to record and plan ahead my blog as well as social media of Flying Balloons Puppet. Even though in real life, I still miss some of them. But, I know that at least I need to try to do it. The next page of this spreads is a poem by Rumi.

I always makes mistakes in my bullet journal, whether wrong days, or wrong spelled. But, I do not want it to be something I need to think about a lot. So, every time I make some mistake, I just lined it up or simply put other paper on top of it. Nothing is perfect, that is why I try to embrace that imperfection. Yes, you see on the next page is to-do list for moving out. Me and my partner will move out in the end of February after he comeback for his tour. I make this spread to remind me what I need to do before moving out and what projects I want to do with the new house.

Again, this weekly spreads is so simple, nothing fancy about it. But, I like it so much. For now, I will stick with this layout until I want to explore more on this spreads.

This month, I give my friend a spreads of February for her graduation gifts. I forgot to take a picture of the spreads. I try to put her style and mood into the bullet journal. It takes me couple of hours to finish the spreads, but before jump into writing and scribble stuff on it, I made a list of spreads that I want to include in the bullet journal. It is quite a time consuming works, but I enjoy giving something like that. Her face is priceless when she open our presents. Maybe, I could make it into business, -- preparing bullet journal spreads with love --. Hahaha. I will post the picture later, if I could ask her to take some picture of it.

Thank you for stopping by!

Cheers,
M

Looking back on 2018, and welcoming 2019

Happy New Year 2019 Everyone!
May we have a blast and wonderful days ahead.

I want to begin this post with some reflection on my goals I wrote in my 2018 post. If I look back, I found that some of it is just a mere imagination with no actual realization, while some of it I could lined them off proudly. Here are my 2018 goals.

2018 goals
Yoga and other physical exercise twice a week at least
Read 52 books a year
Savings for future travel adventure
Write 5 blog entries at least each month
Bring Flying Balloons Puppet to be one of performance group in Indonesia
Bullet journaling
Pray
Take a deep breath before starting anything
Learn Spanish and Japanese again
Finding and seizing opportunity to study again

Last year, I thought that my most difficult goal to be accomplished is staying with my exercise regime. There were days when I could done 30 days exercise challenge while also there were months where I totally forgot to exercise. It was awful.

Other things that I cannot achieve last year was read as many book as I could. I only completed read 5 book. I know for sure that I want to read more book in this 2019. Goals that I could not realize this year also blogging every single month at least writing 5 posts each month. I am so sad that there were months were I have not written anything at all for example February, August, and September. I do not want to make an excuse, but, there are events that I was preparing, such as Flying Balloons performance in Galeri Indonesia Kaya on March 2018.

For me 2018 is the blogging revival for me, since I have not written much on 2017. The year 2011 will be the highest number of posts that I posted on this blog. Nonetheless, the number of posts this year is double up compare to 2017 and I am looking forward to do more on blogging on 2019. 2018 is the time when I signed up on blogger perempuan. I never thought, that I could brave enough to join it. Since I know that I might not be as active as other member, buut taking this step shows that I care about this blog. On early December 2018, I bought domain for this blog. I said to myself that, I need to do this seriously, not only as a way to practice my English but also as a platform for me to share what I like as well as sharing story about the group I am managing, Flying Balloons Puppet.

Looking back to this blog and how I made this during high school, I never imagined that I blogging till this day, it was already 8 years! I thought at first, that the blog only for doing my high school assignment, but it turns out to be a platform where I share my story, any random story I have in my mind, really.

2019, new year, new spread

Blogging is not the only goals I cannot accomplish, of course, there are lots of thing that I could not accomplish within 2018 but at the same time there were opportunities along the way. I am blessed with 2018 and how it turns out. I have a steady job, now I resigned. I get married with an amazing partner and plan to move out together. I helped and involved more in Flying Balloons Puppet in 2018, thank God, we had a wonderful year.

This 2019, I will not share my goal here, but I put it on my bullet journal. There are constant goals that I want to do this year just like any other year before. What makes it different is that, I want to create monthly goals to help me create baby steps towards my yearly goal. I think, that kind of goal will help me a lot. Bullet journal is one of my savior last year. I keep up with many things which I knew that will be overwhelming. Anyway, like beginning of this blog post last year, I want to share my bullet journal setup! I am excited to share it with you.

As I mentioned before on my blog post, I already prepare new refill and some tombow pens.

See you 2019!

A year with bullet journal

Merry Christmas for everyone who celebrate this joyful day!
I hope you can spend your time with your loved ones.

Today, I want to share with you my year with a bullet journal.

I never realize that I already keeping up with bullet journal for a year. It is such an accomplishment for me. Checking my bullet journal on and off to see if there are tasks that I missed is become a common thing for me. Even though some people go for a digital reminder, but I feel that writing it down makes me remember it more.

So, how is it?
I think, personally, that I enjoy the experience and obligatory I might say. It is fun to write down your tasks and to-do lists as well as decorating your bullet journal. The benefits of bullet journalling in 2018 for me is I could actually make something into a habit. I doubt myself when it comes to try something new and consistent in doing so. But, bullet journal this year is become an eye opening journey. Of course, there is a day when I will not look at it at all, even I missed June, I guess. After that moment, I try to prepare the next month ahead, so that I could prepare and actually do it.

For the design and template, I choose black and white with really simple line and decoration. I rarely use color in my bullet journal. Sometimes, I put a bit of color in it but I prefer a black pen and some minimalists line. Why? During 2018, I have a lot of schedule and tasks that I need to get done so that I do want to spend more time in decorating the journal. I prefer something easy and simple. But, I do not know maybe I will experiment more in my journal next year. I still not sure about it, but let’s see.

There are things also that I wish I did before jumping into bullet journaling. First, I probably need a bigger journal, my A6 midori notebook is a bit to small. If only I bought another one, it will be easier for me to decorate it. But, I am glad that the journal can be refill as I want. Second is, I need to use more thicker paper for the refill, so that I could actually draw something in it. For this one, I will just glue another thick paper for a spreads which I want to draw on. I think that besides all the mini size and limitation of my bullet journal, there are always some way to work around it. Overall, my bullet journal experience is a blast.

I cannot wait to start a journey with bullet journaling in 2019. I already bought some supplies. I have watch many bullet journal setup on youtube and instagram, many of them mentioned about tombow dual brush pen. I am intrigued by the color. It has a quite range of grey and black. So, I bought 6 tombows and some refills of my midori notebook with dots pattern.

I am so excited to share it with you how my 2019 bullet journal spreads are.

See you in the next post!

July and all plans for the rest of the year

Hi!
Since last month, I rarely post any entry on my blog. I was busy with many things.

As I did on May I will share my bullet journal spreads to you. I think this month is still the same with minimal and simple layout. During these past months doing the bullet journal I realized that I feel more organized especially when it comes to the appointment and tasks I have to do every week. Even though, I hit my rock bottom with this new habit on June, where I barely updated my journal. I need to get back on track this July, with many plans to do and goals to achieve.

I want to change the journal to bigger size but this one is really compact and easy to carry around not only in my backpack, but also tote bag or other small sling bag. I might change it next time, but I love this one and I think it will stays longer. Since I love this product, I also bought some for birthday presents. If you are interested with my bullet journal, you can check it out here.

This month is a start of many plans for the rest of the year. Not only for Flying Balloons Puppet but for me personally. I will prepare something big on October. Flying Balloons Puppet will be joining Pesta Boneka #6, Puppet Biennale Festival held by Papermoon Puppet Theatre since 2018. I will share the story of this one later on.

Me and Rangga also will prepare an event that will be held on the end of October. I guess, the end of this year will be awesome.

July also will be a month where me and my best friend start to write on our medium account, please check us out here Relatable Reality. This blog meant for people who needs some reality check, hahaha. No, kidding, we just want to share what is our reality. We are more than happy if you guys follow us, read, share it because you feel related to what we experience.

Book needs to finish this month is Spark Joy by Marie Kondo, I bought it by end of June. I will share any books I will read on every month. I guess it help me to keep track on my reading list this year, which is actually on its lowest point.

Hasta pronto,
M

Personal: I start bullet journaling to welcome 2018!

Yaaaassss!
I prepare this entry to welcome 2018!
New Year
New Adventure

Thank you to merciful God for all the blessings, healths, and gifts I had in 2017. Without it, I doubt I could face today's sunlight in the new year. There are more journey and experiences to explore. There are people that I want to meet. And of course there are goals I want to achieve every year.

The goals and tasks need to done properly in this new beginning and I choose bullet journal to guide my way!

I have been checking all those wonderful bullet journal on the internet and I want to have one! So, yeah I plan to start my bullet journal starting this year, 2018. Time of revival! I know, too many exclamation sign will means nothing. But, I am super excited!

There are a lot of plans and works I need to do this year and I think I am ready to take the organization of my life into the next level (read:journal). I have been start writing weekly starting on October. I want to make it a habits actually, because you know all the way there must be a time when even to crawl out of the bed is hard to do. I have gathering supplies as well for my bullet journal. And here it is!
I bought it customized from my friend, she has handmade notebook business named Palka Kreatif, you should check on it. Mine is around 150,000 rupiahs and for the pen I just use all pens I could find gather round my place. Nothing fancy really. The size of my bullet journal is A6, quite small compare to original bullet journal by Leuchtturm 1917 which is also expensive for me. The price is approximately 400,000 rupiah, can you imagine it is the same amount of my lunch budget each month. I know for sure that, I would probably too afraid to use it or even make a terrible mistakes on it.

This is my bullet journal. Pretty neat, isn't it? Finally setting up my life for 2018 in advance.
As you can see, the inside of this bullet journal is like midori traveling journal so I could fill in more notebooks inside and change it while it is already full. So, I think it is a good investment for me to start this year. The notebook inside is plain, so I decide to cover it with origami paper my friend's bought for me after travelling to Japan. It fits well, and even more personalized. I love it! I think the quality of leather and paper of this journal is good. I will custom another fill with thicker paper so I could use my watercolor in it. Yeay! So, bullet journal is one of goal I will have in 2018. But, to make it more new year vibes entry, I will list down below my 2018 goals.

2018 goals
Yoga and other physical exercise twice a week at least
Read 52 books a year
Savings for future travel adventure
Write 5 blog entries at least each month
Bring Flying Balloons Puppet to be one of performance group in Indonesia
Bullet journaling
Pray
Take a deep breath before starting anything
Learn Spanish and Japanese again
Finding and seizing opportunity to study again
Be a humble individual
Be more patient

I actually put some of these goals on my bullet journal. I hope everyone of you have a great and amazing year ahead. Let us embrace a new year with a big dream and lot of hard work.

Cheers!
